I was born and raised in the desert southwest before marrying and putting down roots in Kansas. The left and right hemispheres of my brain have often competed for attention so I find beauty, joy, and fascination in both the aesthetic and the science that underlies it.
My creative expression runs from purely analog to purely digital, and often includes a healthy dose of both. I have spent much of my spare time over the last fifteen years studying and experimenting in 3D art and photography. One of my first jobs was as a graphic designer, and throughout my career components of his work have typically involved print and packaging design and most recently 3D product visualization.
I find inspiration in many styles of photography and art in general, but I'm especially enchanted with the story and experimentation of the pictorialism movement of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. The rich color and drama of Baroque-era masters are also inspiring to me.
My first solo exhibition ran between October 2015 and January 2016 at the Mustard Seed in Buhler, Kansas. The exhibition, titled "The Story of Us", celebrated the people and places in and around Reno County, Kansas. There was also a sub-exhibition entitled "The Story of Me" which featured conceptual and reflective pieces.
